"Doc Jess," also known as Jessica Burgans, is an Army Combat Medic Veteran (hence the "doc Jess"), and Army Lioness. During her two years deployed with the United States Army, she witnessed tragedies involving gruesome deaths, amputated limbs, and decapitation, along with having to fight on the front lines of the Iraq War with Infantry Men as a documented and trained Lioness. After almost a decade of relentlessly searching for healing from her PTSD, she began to find hope and healing from a variety of mind-body-spirit therapy programs. During Jessica's journey of healing, she states, "God opened doors that made no human sense" as she pursued her bachelors degree and continued on to her master's degree that led her to becoming a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
Jessica has facilitated group counseling, individual counseling, marriage counseling, family counseling, parenting classes, marriage classes, and private school facilitator courses. She is dedicated to breaking down stigma barriers for those in need of mental health services and has a passion to serve. "Doc Jess" is eager to help others find the redemption and recovery she found in her journey through healing.
